The Perusini Winery is one of the happy few (50 in total) listed in Luigi Veronelli’s Historic Italian Winegrowers (Vignaioli storici Italiani).

Therefore, it is no coincidence that the earliest medieval depiction of grape harvesting and vinification in Friuli is a fresco of the Perusini-Antonini House in Udine (14th century, now preserved at the Museo Civico).

During the last century, when French varietals were still the height of fashion, viticulture in Friuli has Perusini to thank for selecting and safeguarding certain ancient grape varieties.
